Construction has begun on a $669 million container terminal in Wilmington, Delaware. Scheduled to open in early 2029, the facility is expected to handle 1.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) annually.
The Delaware Container Terminal is being built at the former Edgemoor industrial site along the Delaware River. Marine terminal operator Enstructure and the state-owned Diamond State Port Corporation are developing the project through a public-private partnership.
