Staff have called upon the university administration to provide them with further transparency and opportunities for collaboration regarding the new return-to-work mandate released this semester.
The return-to-work mandate requires that staff work on campus for at least four days a week. Staff received a formal notice of the mandate on Sept. 1, in the form of a letter emailed out to all staff, despite some colleges notifying their employees as early as July.
In the letter, the university set a deadline of June 30, 2027 for staff to resume working on campus. The letter also states, “A University-wide workplace-planning framework, process, and timeline will be communicated to unit leaders.”…
