Kalmar Nyckel’s Halloween Ghost Ship Returns to Wilmington Waterfront Oct. 17

Kalmar Nyckel event offers free ship tours, trick-or-treating, crafts, music and a new recycled-art contest

WILMINGTON — The Kalmar Nyckel Foundation will bring its Halloween Ghost Ship celebration back to Wilmington’s waterfront Saturday, Oct. 17, combining family Halloween activities with a chance to step aboard one of Delaware’s most recognizable historical symbols.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at 1124 E. Seventh St. Admission, parking and many activities are free.

Visitors can tour the deck of the Kalmar Nyckel, where crew members dressed as characters from “The Wizard of Oz” will add some Emerald City fun to the ship’s history.
