A new driving course is dedicated to training police officers, firefighters, paramedics and other first responders in one of the most hazardous aspects of their jobs.
The Emergency Vehicle Operators Course that was dedicated Wednesday covers 14 acres next to the Kirkwood Soccer Complex on River Road near New Castle. Instructors will take learners through the twists, turns, sudden stops and straight-away back-ups sometimes required as first-responders go about their jobs.
