Megan and Joshua Clarke, both alumni of the University of Delaware, selected Susan Murphy, their previous operations management professor, to officiate their wedding. They first encountered each other in Murphy’s BUAD 306 class at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, the only class they shared.
Joshua Clarke joined the University of Delaware in his second year and met Megan Garner through the Alpha Kappa Psi professional fraternity. Their relationship was initially platonic. They lost touch when Megan went to study abroad, but reconnected later.
Their relationship evolved during Murphy’s class. Megan, a business management student, developed an interest in operations management and decided to double major. She is currently a senior consultant of communications operations at Lincoln Financial. Joshua, an international business student, showed more interest in Megan than in the class. Murphy, Megan’s mentor, noticed this and suspected a potential romance. By the following summer, Megan and Joshua began dating and moved in together a year after their 2018 graduation.
