A series of shootings unfolded in Wilmington across Wednesday and early Thursday, leaving five individuals wounded, according to local police reports. The sequence of events began Wednesday afternoon, just before 2:10, when a gunshot victim sought help at a fire station on New Castle Avenue. At the same time, a second individual, also suffering from gunshot injuries, was discovered in the 400 block of South Heald Street. Both victims, 19-year-old males, were transported to a nearby trauma center, with multiple gunshot wounds. The man that was found shot on Heald Street succumbed to his injuries.
