Wilmington Flower Market, ‘Little Women,’ comedy show and fun Mother’s Day events

Have you gotten your mama a Mother’s Day gift yet? If not, we have some local ideas for you that might come in handy this weekend.

Hi there, I’m Andre Lamar, your plug for cool activities in the First State. Here’s the latest DO Delaware newsletter, which highlights several entertainment options to dive into.

Wilmington Flower Market sprouts this weekend

A lavish garden of fun and entertainment will blossom at this festive event this weekend that’s a staple in northern Delaware. The 103rd annual Wilmington Flower Market will feature live music by a handful of artists each day. This includes performances by rising Hockessin singer-songwriter Olivia Rubini (5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday) who dazzled on this season of NBC’s “The Voice,” plus Danish pop sensation Lukas Graham (6 to 7 p.m., Saturday).

Wilmington Flower Market also offers rides, food, beer and (of course) flowers, and lots more. Proceeds from the Flower Market benefit children’s charities in Delaware.

Rockford Park (2629 W. 19th St., Wilmington) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Visit wilmingtonflowermarket.org.
