Despite Low Numbers, Eagles Are Still High on Jahan Dotson

Jahan Dotson has just a single catch on two targets since coming to the Philadelphia Eagles before the start of the regular season.

The fact he’s playing with elite players at his position, and the fact that quarterback Jalen Hurts is still growing chemistry with him, Dotson’s start in Philadelphia always seemed slow to start.

That doesn’t mean the Eagles feel they lost the trade to this point, though. Dotson’s unique blend of size and speed should help the team later in the year when teams find ways to guard both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

In the case of Smith, he’s one of the players least on the team to be worried about Dotson.

“I’ve been a big fan of his since college (at Penn State),” Smith said. “So just going out there, asking him some things that he would do, how he pictures some things. We pick each other’s brains. We’re similar style receivers, so it’s kind of easy to relate to them.”

Dotson has a long way to go if he wants to be the kind of dependable target for both Hurts and the Eagles offense going forward.
