Del. Parish community steps up to help NC flood victims

A truckload of donations will be heading from the Claymont area to a Catholic Relief Services organization in North Carolina to help the survivors of Hurricane Helene. A hastily-organized donation drive at St. Helena’s Parish on Philadelphia Pike brought in piles of essentials including paper products, cleaning supplies, batteries, flashlights, diapers, socks, underwear and bedding. Parish Administrator Father Christopher Hanley said he became acquainted with someone he’s nicknamed the Disaster Pastor several years ago, and St. Helena’s was designated as a donation center.
