Early voting in Delaware begins Friday

Delaware’s 10-day early voting period begins Friday.

This is the second election Delaware has offered early voting, which is common in many other states. While residents who can’t make it to the polls on Election Day can request an absentee ballot, early voting allows them to cast a ballot using regular voting machines.

In New Castle County, early voting is available at six locations, including the Hudson State Service Center at 501 Ogletown Road in Newark, between Wawa and the post office.

Other locations include the Appoquinimink State Service Center, 122 Silver Lake Rd. in Middletown; Christina Crossing, 501 S. Walnut St. in Wilmington; Claymont Community Center, 3301 Green St. in Claymont; the Department of Elections Warehouse, 220 Lisa Dr. in New Castle; and the Police Athletic League, 3707 N. Market St. in Wilmington.

Registered voters can choose to vote at any of the locations. Early voting sites are open Oct. 25, Oct. 26, Oct. 27, Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., as well as Oct. 30, Oct. 31, Nov. 1, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
