15-year-old killed, 16-year-old wounded in Wilmington shooting

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A teenager was killed and another was wounded in a shooting in Wilmington, Delaware Monday night.

Police said the boys, ages 15 and 16, were shot near 23rd and Carter streets around 8 p.m.

The teens were taken to a nearby hospital, where the 16-year-old remains in critical condition. The 15-year-old died from his injuries, officials said.

Police have not released the victims’ identities or information on any suspects.

This shooting comes less than a week after 14-year-old Juwan Walker was shot and killed on Christmas Eve in Dover. Authorities later charged two boys, ages 13 and 15, in connection with Walker’s murder.
