Heartbreaking Morning Tragedy: Pennsylvania Man Killed in Devastating I-495 Collision

WILMINGTON, DE — A fatal crash early Monday morning on I-495 in Wilmington left a 35-year-old Pennsylvania man dead after his vehicle was struck while disabled in the center lane.

The incident occurred on March 24, 2025, at approximately 4:57 a.m., just south of the exit for US Route 13. According to the Delaware State Police, a silver 2011 Ford Fusion was stopped and disabled in the center lane, where its driver was standing in front of the vehicle. A gray 2019 Jeep Comanche, traveling in the same lane, collided with the rear of the stationary Ford. The impact pushed the Ford forward, striking the victim before hitting the guardrail along the right shoulder.

The victim, a resident of Darby, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin…
