Official Celebrity Boxing (OCB) returned to Chester on March 22, drawing a merry crowd of area boxing fans for a night of sportsmanship, entertainment, and much-awaited cards. The event was the first of OCB’s new “XRumble Celebrity Fight Club” series.
XRumble series rules include no headgear, and prospects and contender fights get three, one-minute rounds. “World title fights” get five, one-minute rounds. Fighters include mostly boxing “celebrities;” fighters who have already had an established boxing career in the past, or who have made a name for themselves in fitness or martial arts in some way.
Over the past year, county native Damon Feldman, the OCB promoter, has been focused on bringing his 20-yearold, national fight promotion brand back home. Saturday’s event was the third to occur at Harrah’s Casino in Chester, drawing hundreds of people from across the county, the region, and neighboring states.
Fans, promoters, fighters, and trainers mingled, cheered, and closely watched the action. Every fight gave a good show. Dramatic intensity heightened, as always, by the music, lights, smoke, ring girls, ring announcers, a well stocked bar, and the pungent smell of hard work…
