ELKTON — An investigation is continuing after a house fire near Elkton caused approximately $100,000 in damage, displacing the sole occupant, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The resident called 911 at 9:11 a.m. on Tuesday, after discovering a blaze inside the kitchen of the home in the unit block of North Riverton Road, south of Elkton, fire officials reported, noting that a smoke detector also sounded an alert.
