Police: Driver stopped for violations submerged packaged drugs in iced tea bottle

A Wilmington man is facing felony charges related to drugs and weapons.

A trooper pulled over a driver after seeing several traffic violations where South Market Street becomes North DuPont Highway Tuesday night. State Police said 40-year-old Charles Blackshear was driving with a suspended license, in a rental vehicle he was not authorized to drive. He also was wearing a black mask over his face at the time.

According to police, a search turned up a knife in his waistband, and a search of the vehicle turned up several cell phones and nearly 22-grams of cocaine packaged into plastic sandwich bags that were submerged in a bottle of iced tea…
