Domestic Disturbance Turns Deadly: West Chester Man Accused of Attempted Murder with Kitchen Knife

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 20-year-old man from West Chester has been charged with attempted homicide and additional related offenses following two reported incidents in March 2025. Police allege that Yusef Mohamed assaulted a family member during a domestic disturbance on March 21 before attempting to stab the individual multiple times with a kitchen knife prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

Officers from the West Chester Borough Police Department initially responded to a call regarding a domestic incident at 201 South Matlack Street at approximately 9:20 a.m. Further investigation revealed allegations of physical assault against a family member. Mohamed was taken into custody at the time and transported to Chester County Prison.

On March 27, police received new evidence shedding light on the events preceding their initial response. The evidence allegedly indicated that Mohamed had attempted to stab the victim, leading authorities to obtain an arrest warrant for additional charges.
