Christina invites the public to meet its superintendent finalists in 3 public forums

The Christina School District community will have the opportunity to meet with three finalists for the district’s open superintendent job at upcoming town halls.

After a search and “extensive selection process,” guided by independent firm Ray & Associates, the New Castle County district released the names of three finalists Friday: Kendra Johnson, Harold “Brian” Yearwood and the district’s current Deputy Superintendent Deirdra Joyner.

Now, the Christina school board is asking the public to meet these finalists. In-person forums are slated for April 7, 9 and 10. Each event runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and each event is for a different candidate. The first two are at Glasgow High School, while the second will fill the new Maurice Pritchett Sr. Academy in Wilmington.

Johnson has 28 years in education. She started as a teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools in 1996, but that “extensive” career spans more roles.
