Woman draws prison for stabbing another woman during Lower Merion altercation

NORRISTOWN — A Philadelphia woman was sent to prison after she admitted to stabbing and injuring another woman during an altercation on a Lower Merion Township parking lot.

Qadirah Yasmeen Russell, 32, of the 200 block of Shawmont Avenue, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 22- to-60-months in the State Correctional Institution at Muncy after she pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the July 27, 2024, incident.

Judge Steven T. O’Neill said Russell should be required to complete mental health treatment and substance use disorder counseling during her supervision. Russell also must complete an anger management counseling program…
