Neighbor arrested after allegedly throwing rat poisoned meatballs to stop dogs from barking

In Broomall, Pennsylvania, 63-year-old Mark Nugent was arrested this week after allegedly admitting to throwing chocolate and subsequently tossing meatballs with rat poison pellets into the backyard of a neighbor just a few homes away.

According to the Marple Township Police Department, two weeks ago, Joshua Hunter discovered hundreds of pieces of chocolate scattered around his backyard. The family’s two dogs, Sushi and Hoagi, often are let outside in the yard, and Hunter’s children quickly picked up the chocolate since it is known to be poisonous to dogs.

And now, just a few days ago, Hunter’s son took the dogs out in the morning and immediately noticed about 10 to 12 meatballs all over the backyard. They contained rat poison pellets. One of the dogs actually had one of the meatballs in his mouth, but luckily the children noticed it immediately and pulled it away before the dog could swallow it…
