When a significant festival like the St. Anthony’s Italian Festival in Wilmington kicks off, excitement over the fun and food is quickly drowned out by the most American of complaints: There isn’t enough parking.
The festival takes place in Little Italy on the city’s west side, which is dense with residential neighborhoods and less-than-abundant street parking. This is a challenge in a city without reliable public transportation and an abundance of drivers visiting from surrounding suburbs.
