TURKEY POINT – Divers have recovered the body of a man who jumped into the water from a boat near Turkey Point on Saturday afternoon and failed to resurface, marking the second water-related death in Cecil County two weeks, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP).
NRP Underwater Operations Team divers recovered the body of the 36-year-old man at approximately 12:45 p.m. Sunday, about 24 hours after he went into the water, several miles south of North East, and did not come up – spurring a rescue mission involving fire and rescue units from Delaware and Maryland, reported Hunter Dortenzo, a NRP spokesman.
Because of pending next-of-kin notifications, NRP officials were withholding the victim’s name on Sunday afternoon.
