Extreme heat warning in northern Delaware, heat advisory issued for beaches

DOVER — The National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Warning until 8 p.m. on June 25 for New Castle County, and a Heat Advisory for the Delaware Beaches until 8 p.m. on June 24.

In the northern part of the state, heat index values as high as 108 degrees can be expected, the weather service warned. At the beaches, index values could reach 100 degrees, it said.

High humidity and low temperatures between 70-80 degrees overnight will not offer much relief from the sweltering heat, it continued…
