Welcome Home, “Bella Strong”: Folsom Rallies After Deadly Delco E-Scooter Crash

Bella Jones, 11, stepped off the ambulance on Morton Avenue last evening to the roar of cheers, balloons and a police escort in Folsom, her family’s relief palpable in every pink “Bella Strong” T-shirt lining the street. According to the Aston Township Police Department press release, the crash occurred on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 2:18 p.m. when Bella and her friend Abigail “Abby” Gillon, 12, were struck by a car while riding an electric scooter near Lehr Boulevard and Concord Road. Abby did not survive the collision; the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners wrote that “we are devastated to learn of Abby’s passing” in a June 17 statement extending condolences and support to both families.

Medical teams rushed both girls to Nemours Children’s Hospital, where Bella spent four weeks fighting for her life. The GoFundMe campaign “One Heart, One Jones,” organized by cousin Joyce Cardwell, has raised $65,866 to cover mounting medical expenses and recovery costs as of June 15, organizers said. According to the fundraiser page, Bella suffered a fractured skull, broken jaw and collarbone, a fractured femur, three broken ribs and a major concussion; surgeons wired her jaw and inserted screws to stabilize her femur.
