Wilmington man gets 12 years in prison for insterstate kidnapping that ended in Georgia

WILMINGTON, DE – A 21-year-old Wilmington man was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison Friday for his role in a violent interstate kidnapping conspiracy that began in Delaware and ended in Georgia, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Donnie Taylor was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard G. Andrews following his conviction for a kidnapping scheme that took place in October 2022. According to court records, Taylor conspired with an unnamed juvenile and Kyaire Finch to lure a victim to a New Castle parking lot under false pretenses. Once there, the suspects assaulted the victim, stole his wallet and cell phone, and used a mobile app to transfer $1,400.

Finch restrained the victim in the back seat while Taylor drove across state lines to the victim’s home in Pennsylvania. At the Pennsylvania apartment complex, Taylor and the juvenile entered the victim’s residence while Finch held the victim outside.
