Man Killed During Encounter With NJSP Detectives

The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Camden County.

The incident left an adult man, who is not being identified at this time, dead.

Details of the Encounter

According to the preliminary investigation, two New Jersey State Police detectives who are assigned to the United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force were conducting an investigation involving the man when they encountered him on Haddon Avenue in the vicinity of Bate Avenue in West Berlin.

During the encounter, one of the NJSP detectives fired his service weapon, striking the man.

The man was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 PM…
