A restoration initiative on the Brandywine Creek in Wilmington is picking up the pace – a project that’s expected to increase biodiversity, improve water quality, and reduce the risk of flooding.
For the past few weeks, construction equipment has been rolling into the creek between Rockford Park and the Experimental Station and hacking away at a dam that was built in 1839 to support DuPont milling operations. The structure is known as Dam Six.
