Police: Armed neighbor thwarts home invasion attempt in Elkton

ELKTON — Investigators are crediting a resident in an Elkton neighborhood with thwarting an attempted home invasion at his neighbor’s house by detaining the suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived, according to Cecil County District Court records.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, when a suspect identified as Caleb N. Cline, 23, pounded on a door of a residence in the unit block of Upland Court, which is part of the Buckhill Farms community in eastern Elkton, and repeatedly yelled threats to kill the occupant, police reported.

Court records indicate that the victim does not know Cline and, as of Tuesday, information regarding why Cline allegedly targeted that home and the person inside of that dwelling was unavailable. The charging document also alleges that Cline was attempting to break into the home…
