Downtown Wilmington Burglary Leads to Arrest After Overnight Break-In

WILMINGTON, DE — Police have arrested a 40-year-old man following an investigation into a burglary that occurred in the city’s downtown area last month.

According to Wilmington Police, officers responded to the 400 block of North Market Street on August 13 for a reported burglary that had taken place during the overnight hours. The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division, who later identified David Holmes as one of the suspects.

Holmes was taken into custody and charged with burglary in the third degree, theft over $1,500, and conspiracy in the second degree. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $7,000 unsecured bail…
