NORRISTOWN — Two weeks before his trial was slated to begin, a Delaware County man pleaded guilty to a homicide charge, admitting that he fatally shot a Norristown man in the face during an altercation in the borough.
Marquan “Trey” Manere Banks, 26, of the 1600 block of Powell Road, Chester Township, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court on Thursday to a felony charge of third-degree murder in connection with the 7:34 p.m. Jan. 11, 2025, fatal shooting of 37-year-old Jermaine Pierce. Third-degree murder is a killing with malice.
The fatal shooting occurred in the 500 block of Noble Street in Norristown.
Judge Wendy G. Rothstein, accepting a plea agreement, immediately sentenced Banks to 18 to 36 years in a state correctional institution…
