Delaware State Police have arrested Matthew Ward, 45, of Elkton, Maryland, in connection with several burglaries at United Lines Construction Services (ULCS) in Newark, Delaware. The incidents took place between September 30, 2025, and October 21, 2025. Police say the suspect entered the property by cutting the fence and took copper wire and equipment from storage containers.
The first incident occurred between September 30 and October 2, with about $5,000 in copper wire stolen and $500 in property damage. On October 9, police reported the theft of $23,400 in copper wire and street lighting equipment, along with $1,045 in damages. Between October 15 and 16, $15,000 in copper wire was taken and $500 in damage was reported. The last incident on October 21 involved the theft of $450 in copper wire, with no property damage.
Detectives from the State Police Troop 2 Property Crimes unit identified Ward as the suspect. He was arrested in Newark on October 23, 2025, without incident…
