Rapid Response Fund Activated to Help Families With Loss of SNAP Benefits

A Rapid Response Fund has been activated to help nonprofits support SNAP recipients who have had their benefits cut off or reduced during the federal government shutdown.

As thousands of Delaware County families face the possible loss of SNAP benefits amid the federal government shutdown, The Foundation for Delaware County and The Community’s Foundation have activated the Delaware County Rapid Response Fund.

The Foundation for Delaware County’s President, Michael Kellerman, said in a statement that “SNAP food benefits impact more than 77,000 Delaware County residents who rely on SNAP to feed their families. Thousands of federal employees are also missing paychecks, compounding the strain already felt by families affected by Crozer Health layoffs and other local job losses.”…
