Bear Resident Arrested for Sixth DUI Offense After Smyrna Traffic Stop

On November 8, 2025, Delaware State Police arrested William Boulden, Jr., 59, of Bear, Delaware, for his sixth felony DUI offense. The arrest followed a traffic stop in Smyrna. A trooper stopped Boulden on US Route 13 northbound near Smyrna-Leipsic Road after observing his vehicle swerving.

Boulden showed signs of impairment and did not pass field sobriety tests. Police found he had five previous DUI convictions and a suspended or revoked license. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,501 cash bond. Boulden is charged with felony DUI and driving with a suspended license…
