Man robbed, assaulted in Newark parking lot

A Wilmington man is behind bars, charged with robbing and assaulting another man in a Newark parking lot.

The incident happened just after 1:30 a.m. Nov. 7 in the 1100 block of South College Avenue, according to Lt. Greg D’Elia, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department.

Jordan Maness, 24, is accused of confronting the victim and threatening to retrieve a gun. Maness briefly went into a nearby business and then returned to assault the victim by punching him multiple times and strangling him, D’Elia said…
