Attorneys for a blind man, who along with his daughters were wrongfully evicted from their Wilmington home in 2021, have filed documents asking a federal court for a default judgment against Delaware’s Justice of the Peace and several of its employees.
A default judgment is a request for a ruling that a court grants in favor of the plaintiffs when defendants fail to respond to a court summons or they don’t appear in court by a deadline.
The Nov. 14 default judgment request was filed a day after Delaware’s Justice of the Peace failed to file their responsive pleadings in the wrongful eviction case, according to documents filed by The Neuberger Firm and Sanjay K.
