PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Media are warning residents of scammers impersonating employees of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, demanding large sums of money for missing jury duty or being in contempt of court.
They said callers are using caller ID spoofing to mask their phone number with that of the sheriff’s office, and they’re demanding the payments be made in bitcoin.
