Middletown store opening featured check presentations to local organizations
Mid-Atlantic food retailer Weis Markets marked the Nov. 12 grand opening of its Middletown store in Delaware with a preview event and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The 64,000 square-foot store, which is part of the Bayberry Town Center development and located at 935 McKim Street, is the fourth Weis Markets store to open in Delaware and the first new construction for the company in the state. The supermarket opened to the public the following day.

The store employs 185-plus full- and part-time associates and features the latest in store design, including large fresh departments, a pharmacy and a grocery department with abundant variety, in addition to a fuel center. Weis Markets’ sustainable store design uses natural light, which reduces the need for electrical lighting during the day.
