Fire officials are investigating a residential structure fire that occurred Sunday afternoon at a home on Glover Circle near Newport.
The call for the fire was received just before 4:00. First arriving units initially reported smoke showing from the residence. A short time later, fire was confirmed at the single-story, single-family home. Crews placed three hoselines into operation and began suppression efforts.
Primary and secondary searches of the structure were conducted as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. All searches were completed with negative results. The fire was later brought under control, and units remained on scene for overhaul and monitoring operations…
