Last week, police arrested a Delaware man after he called them to get his personal items back from a towed car. There was just one problem with his request, though. The items that he wanted were inside a vehicle that he allegedly stole.
According to the New Castle County Police Department, a HyundaiSonata was stolen from its parking spot at 9:30 a.m. last Tuesday at Hunters Crossing Apartments. Fox 29 News reports that the victim stated someone took the car while they were warming it up and left it unattended with the keys inside.
On Wednesday, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the New Castle County Regional Communications Center received a call from a 21-year-old man. The man said he was trying to retrieve his personal belongings from a car that someone had towed. He also, according to police, told them that the personal property he was trying to recover was in a Hyundai Sonata that he had stolen the previous day.
