Home health care aide defrauds elderly Upper Dublin woman of $1.2K in credit card scheme

Grace Mercer, 24, of Philadelphia, and Mohammad Teye, 26, of Upper Darby, are charged with forgery, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and other offenses related to a credit card scheme involving an 81-year-old Upper Dublin Township resident, NBC10 reported today.

Mercer, a home health care aide, and Teye, her partner, used credit card information to buy online subscriptions, gambling bets, gas, social media followers and more.

According to the story, an investigation began on May 22 when a woman went to Upper Dublin police to report suspected credit card fraud against her mother. The fraudulent charges included more than $1200 in payments for social media followers, gas, Apple, FanDuel, Roku, Hulu, and Uber, NBC10 said…
