Chester man faces 2026 arraignment for brother’s 2025 alleged murder

Chester resident Kyle Rhyanes, 36, is expected to be arraigned on Jan. 28 on all charges, including first-degree murder, in the October 2025 shooting death of his brother, Cory, 35, and he remains in custody at the George Hill Correctional Facility in Thornton.

In addition, he has been charged with voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, criminal homicide, murder in the third-degree, attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.

On Oct. 24 around 6:30 p.m. Chester police were called to the 500 block of Dorian Drive for a domestic related incident. According to Chester Interim Police Commissioner Katrina Blackwell, when officers arrived, they heard a gunshot and upgraded the call to an active shooter…
