Burglary Call Leads to Swift Arrest on Wilmington Streets

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police arrested a Dover woman Tuesday evening following a reported burglary in progress that prompted a rapid response and neighborhood search, authorities said.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers from the Uniformed Services Division were dispatched around 6:40 p.m. on December 17 to the 600 block of North Walnut Street after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, officers gathered descriptions of two alleged suspects and broadcast that information to units searching the surrounding area.

Police said that a short time later, officers spotted a woman matching one of the suspect descriptions near the intersection of East 9th Street and Guyer Avenue. Officers made contact with the individual, identified as 32-year-old Ivory Duckery, and took her into custody without incident…
