Delaware State Police identify Wilmington man as shooter of trooper

NEW CASTLE — The Delaware State Police on Dec. 26 named a 44-year-old Wilmington resident as the suspect who entered a Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles facility and fatally shot a trooper earlier this week.

The agency’s Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the line-of-duty death that occurred Dec. 23 at the Karen L. Johnson Division of Motor Vehicles on Hessler Boulevard.
