Stolen Van Chase Crosses State Line Before Dramatic Stop at Delaware Wawa

LINWOOD, PA — Lower Chichester Township police say a reported stolen vehicle was tracked by license plate readers Tuesday afternoon, leading to a multi-jurisdictional response that ended with an arrest after the vehicle crossed into Delaware.

According to the Lower Chichester Police Department, officers were alerted at approximately 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, that a vehicle reported stolen earlier that day in the City of Chester was traveling westbound on Ridge Road near its intersection with Market Street. The alert was generated by the department’s license plate reader system.

Police said officers attempted to locate and intercept the vehicle while navigating heavy traffic. An officer eventually made visual contact with the vehicle, described as a white Mercedes-Benz work van, as it passed Blueball Avenue and continued westbound toward the Delaware state line…
