Troopers Investigating Shooting On Marsh Road

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating a shots-fired incident reported Friday evening in Wilmington.

According to authorities, troopers responded at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026, to the 700 block of Woodside Avenue after receiving a report of a vehicle damaged by gunfire. The preliminary investigation determined that a man driving a 2019 BMW X5 had turned right onto Marsh Road from the parking lot of Branmar Plaza, located at 1812 Marsh Road. Shortly after traveling along Marsh Road, the driver reported hearing glass shatter and observed that the rear window of the vehicle had been broken.

Police stated that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The BMW sustained damage limited to the rear window, and a projectile was recovered from the rear area of the vehicle.
