Elkton man charged after police chase, search in Delaware

MIDDLETOWN, Del. — A Cecil County man is facing several criminal charges after he and a companion allegedly fled from officers in Middletown, triggering a police chase and then a search that ended with their capture, according to the New Castle County Police Department.

A Delaware State Police helicopter crew assisted NCCPD officers with the search and it located the two suspects — Eric Loudermilk, 46, of Elkton; and Thomas Yates, 59 of Dover, Del., police reported.

The incident started at approximately 11:08 p.m. on Friday, when a patrolling NCCPD officer noticed that the driver of a Ford F-150 committed a traffic violation while exiting a section of the Whitehall development that is still under construction, turned on his vehicle’s emergency lights and attempted to make a traffic stop on Lorewood Grove Road, police said…
