Man admits to illegal possession of gun during Abington traffic stop

NORRISTOWN — A Philadelphia man is awaiting his fate from a judge on charges he illegally possessed a gun, a crime uncovered during a traffic stop by Abington Township police.

Shaquille Monroe, 32, of the 800 block of Belmont Avenue, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to a felony charge of person not to possess a firearm in connection with the Jan. 20, 2025, incident.
