A Wilmington City Councilwoman is preparing to take a second attempt to represent the city at Legislative Hall.
Councilwoman Shané Darby lost a 2022 State Representative District 1 (Wilmington) Democratic primary to Rep. Nnamdi Chuckwuocha by 90 votes (51.6%-48.4%), and while Chukwuocha hasn’t officially filed his paperwork to run, a rematch is expected after Darby officially filed her paperwork to run on Friday, January 9.
