License Plate Alert Unravels Traffic Stop, Leading to Arrest in East Lansdowne

EAST LANSDOWNE, PA — A routine alert from a license plate reader system escalated into an arrest late last week after East Lansdowne police say an allegedly stolen plate was detected traveling through the borough.

According to the East Lansdowne Police Department, the incident unfolded at approximately 9:30 p.m. on January 16, when Officer Joshua Taylor received an automated alert indicating that a stolen license plate had been identified in the eastbound lane of Baltimore Avenue. Police said the alert prompted an immediate response.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Baltimore Avenue, where police allege the driver was identified as Daniel Harris of Philadelphia. During the stop, officers determined that Harris was operating the vehicle while his driver’s license was allegedly suspended through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
