Window Smashed, Suspect Arrested in Newark Burglary and Stalking Probe

NEWARK, DE — Newark police say officers responding to a reported burglary in progress last week encountered a dramatic scene that led to the arrest of a city woman and the unraveling of what authorities describe as a broader alleged pattern of behavior.

According to the Newark Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:53 p.m. on January 16 to the 500 block of Winterthur Lane after receiving a call reporting a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers located and took into custody Dominque Johnson, 31, of Newark, at the residence without further incident.

Police allege that Johnson attempted to gain entry into the home after banging on the door and then throwing an outdoor statue through a window, causing damage to the property.
