VIDEO | A new purpose for an old church on Wilmington’s West Side

New childcare options as well as resources for job-seekers can be found at a former church building in Wilmington.

West End Neighborhood House’s Education Center and Seeds of Jesus Daycare have a new home at 1725 West 8th Street. It was celebrated during a boisterous ribbon-cutting event Monday, complete with a performance from some of the children who take part in the bilingual childcare program.

“It started as a dream, trying to find a safe place for my kids in my home – I was a homemaker – with nine students,” Seeds of Jesus Daycare Director Sarah Reyes said.
